Food Truck Festivals: Just For The Sake Of Good Food

Food truck cuisine has become so popular that some parts of the country are staging food truck festivals for the sole purpose of eating on the street.

Florida is preparing for the World’s Largest Food Truck Festival on March 29, 2014. The event will be held at the Florida State Fairgrounds, a 355-acre park located in Tampa. More than 200 food trucks are expected to attend, and scores of musicians will be scheduled to entertain the food-loving crowd.

In Minneapolis, food trucks and fans gather for an annual Food Truck Fair in the city’s Uptown area. The popular event allows attendees to consume everything from BBQ sandwiches and salmon wraps to homemade pear lemonade.

The Fall Texas Food Truckin’ Fest is held at the Texas Rangers Ballpark between Dallas and Fort Worth. The two-day event is described as a “food utopia,” with live bands, great grub and plenty to keep the little kids busy so their parents can.

Houston’s Haute Wheels Festival focuses on cutting-edge culinary creations, fine wine, cold beer, live music and artisan/vendors. The three-day event from chefs who want to take your palette on a journey you won’t soon forget. Combine is a fundraiser for the Houston Community College Foundation.

In Washington, D.C., a monthly festival known as Truckeroo is held each month from April through October to showcase the district’s street food offerings. Two dozen food trucks, plus continuous live music, make the gathering a great place to relax and chow down.

Little Rock, Ark., is home to the Main Street Food Truck Festival held in October. The event is organized by Downtown Little Rock Partnership, which relies on food trucks and volunteers to help promote the city’s business district.
