Bring A Food Truck To Your Bachelor Party

When it comes to feeding groups of people, food trucks are an ideal solution – even at bachelor parties. Recently, TV funnyman Jimmy Kimmel and his crew of home boys dined at one during Kimmel’s bachelor weekend in Vancouver.

In addition to hitting some of the city’s hot spot, Kimmel and about 20 of his best buds chowed down on crab cakes and oyster sandwiches at a food truck called Fresh Local Wild.

You can be as cool as Kimmel by inviting a food truck to your own bachelor party. You can arrange to have one (or more) trucks on the scene to feed your friends as long as the trucks have permission to park at your location. With the growing popularity of food trucks, more venues, including well-known hotels and resorts, have become receptive to the idea of a food truck on the premises.

Before finalizing arrangements, determine what type of generator the food truck has and how loud it is. Loud generators can be a problem in a residential area (as can bachelor parties). Propane or high-end generators are quieter.

Most mobile food vendors generate their own power, but your preferred truck could be an exception. Find out if food truck operator needs a power source. If so, what plug/power is required. You’d hate for the truck to arrive and be unable to prepare delicious munchies for your guests.

For more variety, your bachelor party could start at a food truck court, allowing everyone to sample a wide range of food offerings before moving on to a bar, another venue or someone’s home. Just a reminder: Have a designated driver or, better yet, a hired limo or van to keep everyone safe as they celebrate.
